Above are pictures (click to enlarge) of the Sun Court in Troon, Scotland, taken at the beginning of August 2004 by Falkland Palace player Peter Cahusac. The court is only about a five minute drive from Prestwick airport. The receptionist of the old folks home said the building was "derelict and too dangerous" to go inside. Pigeons have gotten in through broken skylights (see the last picture). As you can see, this treasure is being allowed to fall into ruin.

The current owners have applied to the South Ayrshire Council to bulldoze the court to make way for other residences. The Council has so far rejected the application, but as of 2004 Aug 10 it is still under appeal. This is the only Jeu à Dedans type tennis court in Scotland, the other real tennis court, in Falkland, being the earlier Jeu Quarré design.
